We brought the action into the “Roaring Twenties” for this production of The Mikado with the action taking place around 1922 in the Grand Hotel of Titipu, a seaside resort off the coast of Japan.
The show was directed by Adrian Dobson, who took as his inspiration the Jonathan Miller English National Opera monochrome version.
Our “Little Maids from School” were suitably clad in gymslips and their antics were observed by hotel maids, bell boys, housekeepers, the chauffeur and gardener and a gathering of hotel guests
