We are delighted to have been nominated for the new category Best Gilbert & Sullivan Production in the East Midlands region at NODA East Midlands’ annual awards! The winners will be announced at the AGM on Saturday 13th June 2026.
Rehearsals underway for The Yeomen of the Guard
This week saw the first rehearsal for our 60th anniversary production, which will be The Yeomen of the Guard. It was fantastic to be back in the rehearsal room singing through some of the beautiful music.
Auditions for the principal roles will be held on Tuesday 20th May in Shepshed at 8pm. There is still time for new members to join us if you are interested in taking part. Drop us an email at ShepshedGandS@gmail.com to find out more.

After a wonderful concert at our ‘home’ venue – Christchurch Methodist Church, Shepshed – we carry on our 60th anniversary year as the guests of St Mary’s Church, Wymeswold.

Not one but two spring concerts to kick start our 60th anniversary year!
This April, we’re performing two concerts to mark the start of our diamond jubilee year – 60 years of Gilbert and Sullivan at Christchurch! We start things off with or Diamond Jubilee concert in our home – Christchurch Methodist Church – on Saturday 12th April.
At the end of the month we are welcomed back by St Mary’s Church in Wymeswold for an evening of G&S music and traditional songs.

Christmas concert rehearsals underway
There was no rest after our recent production of Patience, as we’ve gone straight back into rehearsals ready for our concert at Rempstone Church on Saturday 30th November.
Shepshed Lions Charity Carnival
We’re having a stall at Shepshed Lion’s annual Charity Carnival on Monday 26th August 2024. Come along and say hello and have a go at winning one of our jam jars full of prizes. We’ll also have flyers and booking forms for our upcoming production of Patience.
The carnival takes place in Glenmore Park in Shepshed from 12-4pm. There is a small entry fee.
Back in rehearsals
After a well earned winter break, it was lovely to be back in the rehearsal room this week for our first concert rehearsal. And we were sounding in fine voice!
Our concert sub-committee has pulled together a beautiful programme of music under the title ‘Love is in the Air’! It includes plenty of Gilbert and Sullivan numbers as well as songs from well-known musicals.
The concert will be at Christchurch Methodist on Saturday 20th April and tickets are on sale now.
